my intro to the world of blogging

I have heard about blogging for ages now, and decided that maybe it would be a good option for me, and for Daniel and I to connect with our family and friends all over the world.

So...hello!

I don't have anything too interesting to share, except the following:

1- Daniel and I attended our first spam party!! How exciting. Daniel and I haven't really consumed SPAM before (except for him, maybe 10 years ago). So, the idea of eating a lot of SPAM in one evening in combo with alcohol, sounded like a recipe for distaster. Luckily it worked out and there were so many yummy dishes! Our friend also had a contest for the best SPAM dish and we won!! We made SPAM pizza; apparently it was pretty good. I must give credit to Daniel because he is the creator of the pizza itself, with the help of Trader Joe's pizza dough. Of course we can't neglect my help, so everyone applauded me for buying the ingredients, carrying the pizza tray, and just standing around supporting his efforts, haha. We won two movie tickets and a bottle of wine!! FUN!

2- We had awesome massages yesterday and now we're sore, and questioning what classifies as good and so-so massages? It's not like anyone ever tells us what makes a good massage, all we can do is compare with each other and use a rating scale of how much pressure the massus (sp?) used to remove knots. If anyone can inform me, that'd be cool.

3- Cooking together! Daniel and I have always cooked together. We find the time together as great quality time together and we get to make yummy food as a result! With the great idea and support of Jo (Daniel's ma), we have made a lot of effort to cook several meals during the weekend and freeze a lot of them in portions so we have meals during the week. This has been been somewhat of a great success for us in helping relieve stress during the week of, "What's for dinner?!?!!?!?"

4- As most of you know, I am in the midst of fieldwork right now, aka a counseling intern at a local elementary school. The experience has been wonderful in that it solidifies my passion for this profession. The downside is my emotional attachment to these students that are my "clients"! I cannot help but get emotionally involved, which hinders me from being an effective counselor. Friday was the worst day with this problem. I forced myself to try to relax and become more center when I got home that evening. I realize that this is going to be a struggle, but I'm confident I'll get better at it.

5- DP's work is going well. Sporadically he will get stressed if he's not making deals or doesn't feel "successful", but overall he is content with his job. Aside from work he spends a lot of his time reading, reviewing stocks, watching documentaries/sitcoms/etc on Hulu. He also contributes a lot of his time to helping our household run smoothly. Meaning, he is a great helper with laundry, dishes, cooking, cleaning, etc. He is an up and coming car maintenance man, household repairer, and cook :) I'm lucky to have to have him!!

Okay, I should stop typing and give this a break. Let's see how successful this tool will be in connecting with our loved ones!
