it's moving along

dp and i are quite excited and thankful with this escrow process. money has been wired, house inspection went well, and appraisal is equal to our offer price. we were there yesterday and i was thankful to discover that the house is better than i had thought (since our initial visit i just browsed through it.) the bathrooms are both upgraded and clean (which is a big deal for me.) we've been dreaming about renovations and watching "how-to's" online and visiting the DIY websites. on sat. we even visited home depot! ahhh, the life of home ownership :) blessed am i, a few of my friends will help with interior decorating. hopefully this fri we will get the green light about the loan. thanks for your prayers!

new house here we come!

hi! wanted to share that we are in escrow (our offer was accepted and now comes inspections, financing, etc.) ... so fingers crossed and many prayers that this process goes smoothly... it's already stressful... much to do within a short timeframe. it is exciting to begin getting rid of items that we sure do not need. i love being a minimalist!

what is comfortable?

lately i've been itching to get away... to have a cultural experience... to serve those that have less resources than we do... and i feel as though dp and i are "too comfortable" right now because we have good jobs, financial means, good support network, good marriage... everything's just good! then i am reminded that though we are so blessed, we are also going through some transitions and changes that are quite life changing to some people's standards. 1- relatively new jobs and 2- house hunting! we are continually reminded of the key character building traits- patience, humility, and faith. it's so easy to take control of our situations and try to make it work according to our will. so easy. so that's where we are... having to actively practice those three key action verbs. we put an offer on a fourth house yesterday so fingers crossed (and many prayers) that this is the one... which we feel is!

other news... i am 26 now! for my bday we went hiking near Julian, had a picnic in an open field, wine tasting, exploring Julian, and our friends took us out for some yummy Vietnamese food! i couldn't have been happier! thanks to my hubby and our friends eileen and wouter for making it super special.
